In the United States schools too, a lot of students beg for a better grade.
I am taking a class under Professor Blank.
The following is an excerpt from one of his web pages:
"Typical letter from B student" - student who got a B grade
Esteemed, Respected Professor Blank:
I really worked hard in this class and expected an A. I got A’s on most of my homework. I won’t get into the PhD program, my mother won’t love me, and my fiancĂ© won’t marry me unless I get an A. Please change my grade to A.
Desperate
His reply:
Dear Desperate:
I think you must have me confused with another instructor. I teach computer science, not begging.
Sincerely yours,
Professor Blank
A bit mean, but he did send his message.
